Gingerbread PDF Print E-mail

Ingredients:


1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
3/4 teaspoon ground ginger
3/4 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 large egg
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup unsulfured molasses
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1/2 cup boiling water

Method:


1.    Preheat oven to 400°F. Grease and flour an 8-inch square baking pan, knocking out excess flour.
2.    In a bowl, sift together flour, baking soda, ginger, cinnamon, and salt.
3.    In a cup beat egg lightly and stir into flour mixture with sugar, molasses, and oil.
4.    Add boiling water in a slow stream, whisking until combined well.
5.    Pour batter into prepared pan. Bake gingerbread in middle of oven 30 minutes, or until a tester inserted in center comes out clean.
